Jeremy G. Butler

Dr. Butler's research centers on the process of signification
in film and television. He particularly is concerned with the ways
that genres structure meaning and the function of star images within
film/TV texts. He also written on the semiotics of visual style
in a variety of cinematic and televisual contexts.
