DEPARTMENTAL M.A. PROGRAM POLICIES

A minimum of 24 graduate hours must be completed in Communication Studies.

An incomplete grade must be removed by the first day of class of the next semester or summer session attended following the one in which the grade was received. Failure to do so will result in a change of the grade to "F."

A student holding a graduate assistantship of .5 FTE must take at least 6 graduate hours during a semester and maintain a B average in course work.

• Only one independent study (COM 536) may count toward the minimal requirements in the plan of study. Students must submit a request form and secure approval before signing up for COM 536.
  
• For changes in the approved plan of study, students must file an amendment to the plan of study with their advisors' approval.
  
• A copy of the student's approved plan of study must be kept on file in the department. It is the student's responsibility to adhere to the plan or to amend it officially.
