I-Huei Cheng is an assistant professor in the Department of Advertising and Public Relations and a fellow at the Plank Center for Leadership in Public Relations. Her research interests center on health communication, public relations and advertising; topics of her publications and conference papers include information processing of antismoking messages, health and crime news reporting, online activities of portal site users, conflict management, and public relations education. Her teaching areas include communication campaigns, public relations management, risk communication, and media and marketing research methods. Cheng has been named Page Legacy Scholar for the 2006-07 academic year with a research grant from the Arthur W. Page Center for Integrity in Public Communication; she also received one of the first Plank Center Grants in Leadership Studies. Cheng earned her doctorate from the Missouri School of Journalism, University of Missouri-Columbia and taught at the University of Kansas before joining the Alabama faculty. |
